SARON GAS ‘WIND IT UP’ SA TOUR

Top SA hard rock outfit, Saron Gas, will be capping a very successful
year when they fly off to New York in January 2002 to begin work on
adding some final touches to their soon-to-be-re-released debut smash
album, ‘Fragile’. This will include the band’s new hit single,
‘Gasoline’, and is the beginning of Saron Gas’s work under the Wind Up
label, with whom they recently signed a multi-album deal.
Before they leave, the band will be doing a quick once-around SA tour to say cheers to all their fans. Those dates are:

SEMISANE NATIONAL SUMMER TOUR DATES

As 2001 draws to a close, South Africa's hottest pop band has barely had a moment to catch its collective breath and consider the very favourable position in which it currently finds itself. Semisane’s debut album, ‘A Life Less Strange’, with its many chart singles, has proved to be a huge and continuing success. There is still an incredible national response to the band’s subsequent smash hit single, ‘Life (The Theme from Big Brother)’, with sales currently approaching Platinum status.
The band has been performing a string of dynamic support slots and live
performances at SA Festivals and eviction parties and is currently
booked solid for the next few months. All of these contributing factors
find this high profile Cape Town foursome riding the crest of the SA pop wave as the year ends.
But, instead of taking a well-deserved break after such a successful
year, Semisane - comprising Tikara (vocals, guitar, songwriting), Chris
Acker (guitar, songwriting), Sascha Muller (drums, songwriting) and Nick Acker (bass) - will be undertaking a whirlwind tour of SA before
beginning the pre-production for their (as yet untitled) second album.
Most of the potential tracks for this album have been written, demo-ed
and performed live, and it is expected to be released towards the middle of 2002.
The final Big Brother eviction party is on December 12th at the Monsoon
Lagoon, and Semisane will naturally be appearing and performing at this
huge media bash. New Year’s Eve will find the band appearing at a party
at Sun City alongside Just Jinger and Saron Gas.

PEREZ - NEW ALBUM AND TOUR
Perez will be going on a Summer Tour along with 5FM this December.
During the tour they will be launching their brand new, much
anticipated, debut album, ‘Picture Perfect’. Join the band right on the

JUST JINGER AND WATERSHED SA TOUR
[The ‘Ford Focus into the Blue Tour’]
Two of the best bands yet to come out of South Africa are joining
forces, combining their exceptional skills and musical talents, and are
going on a national tour around South Africa in the month of December.
Not only will audiences across the country get the opportunity to
experience the thrill of a live performance of one great South African
band, but now they have the opportunity of witnessing two phenomenal
bands in one evening.
Just Jinger, back from a two year stint in the UK, are returning to the
fans that used to pack venues all over SA, and Watershed, who are
currently based in JHB, are looking forward to performing to their fans
all over the country, who’ve heard their music on just about every
national and regional radio station possible.
It’s a performance not to miss, with Just Jinger who went platinum with
two consecutive albums (‘All Comes Round’ and ‘Something For Now) and
now have a ‘Greatest Hits’ compilation on the shelves. Watershed are
following in the "Jingers" footsteps, having recently gone Gold with
their debut album ‘In the Meantime’.
The tour will kick off in Pretoria and will end with an awesome show in
Knysna. Those tour dates are as follows:

2001 has been a great year for Zen Arcade, with the Jo’burg foursome
going from Zen-ous to Heroes in a few short months on the back of a
smash hit single ‘Crazy For You’ (No 1 on the 5FM Top 40 & chartopper on the SA Rock Digest charts), a wonderful debut album, ‘Snowflake’ (SA Rock Digest no.1), and a stream of acclaimed live appearances, both loud and rocking, and seated and unplugged, at Festivals and clubs all over the country (Woodstock3, Edgars/5fm Birthday Bash, Springbok Nude Girls’ ‘Fat Lady Sings’ Tour).
But the band have been a bit scarce down south for a while, a situation
soon to be remedied with the announcement of the band’s December tour
and dates. The band will again be performing the occasional unplugged
gig among the standard, er, plugged concerts. Those tour dates and

HANGKLIP SLASH FEST
Stage Magazine, Jose Cuervo and M Music Management & Promotions present:
Slash Fest 2001 which will be taking place at The Hangklip Hotel on
Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 December. The Slash Fest got its name from the diversity of the musical styles that are going to be on display at the festival i.e. punk/ (slash) alternative/ (slash) rock/ (slash) hardcore. The Slash Fest promises to be one of the highlights of the musical calendar for 2001.

THE ZWARTKOPS 3-HOUR ENDURANCE RACE AND ROCK FESTIVAL
1 December 2001
The Zwartkops 3-Hour Endurance Race and Rock Festival, at the Zwartkops
Race Track (just off the R55 in Pretoria), is set to quench even the
most thirsty music and adrenalin junkies with gorgeous biker chicks in
leather, speed freaks, beer tents and food stalls, bike displays and
live original music of the highest standard. Spend a day outdoors in the sun, bring the family, watch the races while at the same time seeing some of SA's top rock bands in action. Barney Simon from 5FM will compere the day and DJ after the bands.
